Accelerated Estate Giving

Give during High Earning Years, Reduce Taxes, Enable Greater Giving

When you make an end of life donation, you lose one powerful tool for giving: a tax deduction.

If you are a high earner saving to give large amounts in the future, you can give more – much, much more – if you maximize your charitable deduction by giving now. You can deduct more and receive more tax back from the government when you give in a year when you earn more, especially compared to waiting to give when you earn less – such as during retirement. And you receive no tax back from the government when you wait to give until the end of life.

The greater tax savings the giver receives back from the government when he gives now, during high-earning years, plus earnings on those tax savings, are amounts he can give away – to church and Kingdom charities instead of the government. By starting today, you can radically increase the wealth you give over your lifetime. It just takes a little planning and the help of the PCA Foundation.

Charitable Bequests

One of the easiest gifts to make is simply to remember us in your will, living trust, or retirement account. Instruct your legal counsel to draft a bequest in your will or charitable distribution in your living trust to Demo 123 Demo Street, City, State 12345 “[LEGAL NAME AND ADDRESS OF CHURCH].” This simple step can provide for our work for years to come. If you have specific projects that you would like to fund, please talk with us so we can dream with you and ensure that we understand your vision for your gift.

If you desire to benefit additional organizations, or want to be able to change charitable beneficiaries easily and without additional cost, we recommend giving to a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) at the PCA Foundation. You can learn more about the usefulness of DAFs in estate planning here.

We recognize that estate planning can seem overwhelming. Thankfully, the PCA Foundation has provided this free resource to begin planning. Once you have completed the worksheets, you can meet with your attorney to complete the necessary paperwork. If you do not have an attorney, we would be happy to connect you with one.

Real Estate Gifts with Reserved Life Estates

One of the largest assets that most people will ever own is their home. And thankfully, you do not have to wait until death to donate it.

With a Reserved Life Estate (RLE), you can give your home or farm to support our work—while continuing to live in it for the rest of your life. After your lifetime, the property is sold by the PCA Foundation, and the proceeds go into a donor-advised fund. From there, grants can be made to us and any other ministries you’ve designated.

An RLE provides a unique tax benefit: you receive an immediate charitable deduction based on the projected value of the property at the end of your life. This is a deduction you wouldn’t receive if the gift were made through a will. And in the meantime, you retain the comfort and use of your home, while turning a personal asset into an eternal investment.
